Luciana Paluzzi

Luciana Paluzzi is one of the numerous brunettes groomed to become international stars after the death of Gina Llobrigida. After working on both coasts of the Atlantic throughout the 1950s for movies like Three Coins in the Fountain, (1954), and Sea Fury, (1958) Luciana Paluzzi had a shot at American TV fame in the character of Simone Genet in the spy weekly Five Fingers in 1959. She was approached in 1965 by Bond producers to be considered for the role of Domino Derval, who was the principal character in Thunderball. When the role ended up going to the former Miss France, Claudine Auger and director Terence Young offered her the villainess role of Fiona Volpe - one of only a handful of women on this globe who could resist the attraction of Mr. Bond Perhaps as a an apex for her, Fiona is killed on the dance floor by her own colleagues, after which James takes her body to the table nearby and tells her "Do you think it's okay if my partner sits this one out? It's not her fault. The blockbuster at the box office enabled Luciana Paluzzi to extend her European starring career well into the '70s in both the US as well as Europe as well, in films like Captain Nemo And The Underwater City (1969), The Six Million Dollar Man (1973), The Klansman (1974) as well as The Greek Tycoon Luciana Luciana Luciana
